## Visits to the Materials Recovery Facility

Community groups from Nottinghamshire are able to visit the Material Recovery Facility for an interactive talk, activity and tour of the facility to find out what happens to their household recycling once it is collected from the kerbside. Visits are limited to 15 people and all participants must be able to walk comfortably and unassisted to be able to enter the facility.

A Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is where recyclable materials that are collected from households are sorted into different types (e.g. plastics, cardboard, paper, metal) using a mixture of manual and automated methods. When the materials have been sorted they are sent to reprocessors and manufacturers where they are used to create new products.

If you would like to arrange a visit, please email <notts.enquiries@veolia.co.uk>

We were made very welcome. The talk was most informative and we left with a great deal more knowledge and determination to do more to help the environment.

A load of rubbish turned out to be a great experience. We love our country and want to recycle as much as possible to conserve its resources and natural beauty.
