Bring your class to our Materials Recovery Facility for free!
A Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is where recyclable waste that is collected from household recycling bins is sorted into different types of materials (paper, cardboard, plastic & metal) using a mixture of automated machinery and dedicated recycling operatives. When the materials have been sorted, they are sent to reprocessors who use the material to create new items such as delivery boxes, plastic packaging & drink and food cans.
The children (and adults) absolutely loved the trip. We would definitely love to come again! The activities were well planned, engaging, fun for the children and the children learnt a lot about recycling.

To visit our Materials Recovery Facility, schools must be based in the Nottinghamshire County Council area, and children must be aged 7+.
Our maximum capacity for school-aged children is 30. However, we can arrange multiple visits for schools with more than one class per year group. Schools are also eligible to claim a reimbursement for the cost of their transport to the Materials Recovery Facility (subject to availability).
