Day 21 Challenge
Today’s task is to spread the word and make sure your household and other people you know in Notts know what can be recycled.
At the beginning of the month, your challenge was to make sure you knew what goes into which bin. (Need a reminder? Check out our BinSmart guide)
Now it’s time to take that knowledge further and make sure others are also recycling right.
Most households have a small bin, box or bag inside the home to collect their recyclables before taking them to the wheeled bin outside. If you have something like this, could you attach our Notts Recycles guide that lists the items that are acceptable so that your household or visitors are all in the know? (It is available in a variety of languages just click the link below)
Why is it important to put the right thing in the right bin? Putting non-recyclable items in the recycling bin has serious consequences - it can lead to your wheeled bin not being emptied or even worse, an entire truck load of recyclables being ruined due to contamination! So remember if in doubt, leave it out.
