Day 8 Challenge
Today’s challenge is to take your reusable bag to the shops!
Single use plastic carrier bags are made from polyethylene which is derived from non-renewable oil and requires energy to manufacture. As they are so thin, they can often rip after a single shopping trip.
The good news though is that reusable shopping bags have become the norm over the last few years with people now using jute bags, bags for life, cotton bags and even string bags to bring their shopping home.
But have you been caught out by forgetting to actually bring them with you and be forced to do an elaborate balancing act with your shopping?
Make a promise today to always take your bag with you. Even better, put a bag in your car, laptop case, handbag, coat pocket etc right now so you know it’ll be there when you next need it. It may sound simple but small actions like these can have an impact and show your commitment to reducing plastic waste.
