Where does Nottinghamshire's recycling go?

Veolia Nottinghamshire operates a £14 million Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) in Forest Town, near Mansfield. The facility sorts and bales 85,000 tonnes of household recyclable waste each year, helping Nottinghamshire meet its ambitious recycling targets.

Using advanced technology and manual sorting, the MRF separates materials such as cardboard, paper, aluminium, ferrous metals and plastic bottles. This ensures high-quality recyclables that manufacturers rely on to create new products, reducing the need for raw materials.

The MRF also features an education room and a visitors’ walkway with a viewing platform. Our ECO Officer offers educational tours for groups aged seven and above. To register your interest, please email [email protected].
